The Receiver that Delivers it All

The Elite^® SC-97 AV receiver brings the
latest features and technology you expect from Pioneer to your home theater.
The enhanced realism of Dolby Atmos^® driven by authoritative
Class D³ amplification. Along with advanced multi-zone features
and effortless connectivity, it offers advanced Super Resolution video scaling
with 4K Ultra HD pass-through with HDCP 2.2, a USB-DAC for jitter-free digital
networked audio streaming, and the immersive new object-based DTS:X
surround-sound format (available with a firmware update). The Elite SC-97
provides studio-grade room calibration with MCACC^® Pro and the coveted
AIR Studios^® Monitor Certification ensures an unmatched
surround-sound experience.

Authoritative Class D³ Amplification

Extreme power with extreme efficiency are hallmarks of the
Elite SC-97, thanks to Class D³ (Direct Energy HD) amplifiers
that deliver lots of power in a cool-running, light weight package. An ideal
multi-channel system uses identical speakers driven by identical amplifiers
with the same output capability. Pioneer’s advanced Class D³ digital
circuitry overcomes the limitations of traditional Class AB amplifier designs,
which suffer reduced power output as channels are added. Instead, Pioneer’s
Class D³ delivers full power across all nine channels
simultaneously, for a total of 810 watts (8 ohms, 1 kHz @ 1.0% THD). The Elite
SC-97 recreates the full impact and dynamic range of today’s high-resolution
multi-channel audio and movie soundtracks. With a direct signal path and no EMI
filters, feedback loops or current limiting, these amps can handle
low-impedance speaker loads that challenge lesser receivers. The amps in the
Elite SC-97 are so efficient, they generate less heat and energy loss than
traditional Class AB designs, while consuming a fraction of the power and with
greater reliability.

Elite with Dolby Atmos^® Revolutionizes
the Surround Landscape.

The Elite SC-97 raises the curtain on a new world of sound!
This receiver with Dolby Atmos will literally change the way you experience
movies and music, and all it takes is one listen. The Elite SC-97 integrates
Dolby’s groundbreaking surround technology and is compatible with 7.2 4ch*, 9.2
2ch*, 7.2 2ch and 5.2 4ch, configurations for Dolby Atmos. It works by adding
height to the sonic landscape, creating a true 3D, multi-dimensional space that
puts listeners inside the experience. Optimized room calibration through the
built-in MCACC Pro feature, in conjunction with Atmos-enabled speakers like the
Elite Home Theater System or dedicated ceiling-mounted speakers, reproduces
sound in smooth, curving, and realistic three-dimensional movement overhead by
top-firing Atmos drivers. Dolby Atmos brings new life to traditional
soundtracks and music too, putting sounds into motion and delivering the full
impact of the performance.

*External amplifier required.

Ready for Immersive Surround Sound with DTS:X

The next-generation surround sound format from DTS,
available as a no-cost firmware update, creates an amazing three-dimensional
sound field that reproduces the movement of sound in space. It automatically
adapts the signal to existing channels and speakers for captivating,
interactive, 3-D realism!

Precision room calibration with MCACC Pro

MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration) Pro lets your
speakers perform with a new level of precision. Further enhancing the
three-dimensional realism of the Elite’s Atmos-enabled system, MCACC Pro
calibrates your room sound using a sound-collecting microphone to monitor the
sound environment and an equalizer to optimize and precision-tune each speaker
to the room. Pioneer’s Full-Band Phase Control technology eliminates phase lag
to precisely control sound locations for ideal multi-channel sound
reproduction. MCACC Pro is so advanced that it includes dual independent
subwoofer EQ. Tailoring left- and right-channel low frequency response curves
lets you achieve optimum subwoofer performance based on specific room
placement, creating powerful bass response and seamless integration with your main
speaker system. With the push of a button, it’s like having an acoustical
engineer fine-tuned your home theater system.

ESS SABRE³² DACs for High-Performance
Audio

The Elite SC-97 delivers unmatched digital-to-analog signal
conversion. Two SABRE³² Ultra DAC (ES9016S) units from ESS
Technology—recognized as among the best in the industry—are critical to
achieving purity of sound, wide dynamic range and minimal harmonic distortion
that let the high-power Class D³ amps perform to their fullest.

Certified by AIR Studios. A Rare Stamp of Approval

The Elite SC-97 has been certified at London’s legendary AIR
Studios, whose work is acknowledged worldwide for award-winning motion picture
soundtracks and digital recordings. Like Pioneer, AIR Studios respects the
artist’s intention and believes that faithfully reproducing what was originally
created in the studio is the critical objective of the finest home theater
system.

Precision Playback in Multiple Formats

Supporting high-resolution digital file formats
(192kHz/24-bit) in WAV, FLAC, AIFF and Apple Lossless lets audiophiles hear
their favorite music as it was originally intended. Apple Lossless reconstructs
exact data from compressed data, with no discernible loss in audio quality.
MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV and FLAC music files can be streamed from a compatible PC,
laptop, tablet or smartphone. Gapless Playback eliminates gaps between
consecutive tracks intended to be played continuously, such as classical music
or live recordings.

HDMI for 4K*

The Elite SC-97 HDMI inputs offer increased bandwidth,
resolution and frame-rate capability, supporting 4K resolution at 60 frames per
second. With 7 HDMI inputs and 3 outputs, you’ve got plenty of connectivity
options for the growing number of high-definition sources available.

*Please review the owner’s manual to confirm 4K-compatible HDMI inputs

Ultra HD Pass-Through with HDCP 2.2

The Elite SC-97 supports transmission of 4K/60P/4:4:/24-bit
video signals and High Dynamic Range (HDR) signals, along with the latest HDCP
2.2 copyright protection standard. 4K Ultra HD Pass-through is the recognized
standard of ultra-high video resolution, boasting 3,840 x 2,160 (24 Hz/25 Hz/30
Hz) pixels or 4,096 x 2,160 (24 Hz) pixels. Every Elite AV receiver can pass
through 4K video signals to any compatible display, offering the
highest-quality image available — a full four times the current HD standard.

Video Scaler with Super Resolution

Experience an exceptional, virtually noise-free picture
regardless of the source. Video scaler with Super Resolution allows you to
up-scale any video source to 4K Ultra HD resolution for improved picture
